Sen jag var liten har jag hört talas om Ådalen 31 och om skotten som tog fem arbetares liv och när jag nu är i närheten måste jag se platsen för denna historiska och tragiska händelse. Vi kör till Lunde och hittar efter en stunds letande något som verkar vara platsen där allt hände. Det är en tom grusplan som ligger lite i skymundan, det finns inga skyltar dit, men när vi väl är där hittar vi minnesmonumentet och några små skyltar om att en gång i tiden så sköt militären på regeringens order mot strejkande arbetare vars enda synd var hunger.
En direkt följd av Ådalen 31 blev att Sveriges Riksdag förbjöd användandet av militär trupp i sociala konflikter i fredstid.
