Vägen slingrar sig runt bergsväggarna som stupar ner i älven som periodvis är en stor sjö, Laisan. Tankarna far till Gardasjön och likheten är slående så när som på att det knappt finns något folk här. Längst in i dalen landar vi på en camping som drivs av en familj med många barn, det tror vi alla fall med tanke på antalet barncyklar i olika storlek som ligger huller om buller lite överallt. Jo säger kvinnan vi möter i receptionen, det är min son som driver stället fast han är inte hemma nu för han är på bröllop så jag passar campingen och de minsta barnen.
Vi beslutar oss för att stanna två nätter och Martin köper fiskekort för nu skall det fiskas! Men det regnar och är kallt och vi har kört många mil så det blir korv till kvällsmat i stället för nyfångad Röding.
Nästa dag skiner solen och ingen fisk vill nappa i fint väder så vi ger oss ut på vandring istället. Låna en båt och ro över till andra sidan, säger farmor, där är det inte så kuperat och det finns en bred upptrampad stig till Bäversjön så det är lättare att gå där. Hmpf… vad tror hon om oss att vi är några jäkla veklingar, men okej då för hundens skull han börjar ju bli lite gammal.
Det blev en alldeles underbar walkabout fast vi undrar hur andra icke breda och mer kuperade stigar ser ut mätt med norrländska mått. Tillbaks igen återupptar Martin jobbet med att fånga kvällsmaten men som sagt var ingen fisk vill nappa när det är fint väder så det blir soppa till kvällsmat.
